Privacy Policy

Welcome to Yuzzles (“we“, “our“, or “us“). Yuzzles is a daily UPSC year-guessing puzzle game built for students and enthusiasts of Indian history and current affairs. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and what rights you have over it. By using Yuzzles, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

We collect the following types of information:

• Account information — When you sign up, we collect your email address and a display name via Supabase Auth. You may also sign in using a third-party provider (such as Google), in which case we receive basic profile information from that provider.
• Gameplay data — Your puzzle attempts, guesses, scores, streaks, and session activity are stored to power your stats dashboard and leaderboard features.
• Guest session data — If you play without an account, a guest token is stored in a cookie to track your session temporarily.
• Analytics data — We collect anonymised usage events (such as puzzle started, puzzle completed) to understand how the product is used. No personally identifiable information is attached to these events.
• Device and browser data — Standard server logs may include your IP address, browser type, and referring URL. This data is not linked to your account.

• To maintain your puzzle history, streaks, and achievements
• To display leaderboards and community rankings
• To send important service-related communications (no spam)
• To diagnose bugs and improve performance
• To enforce our Terms of Service and prevent abuse

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party for marketing purposes.

Yuzzles uses cookies and similar technologies for the following purposes:

• Authentication cookies — To keep you signed in across sessions.
• Guest session cookies — To track gameplay for users who have not created an account.
• Preference cookies — To remember your in-game settings.

You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but some features of Yuzzles may not function correctly without them.

Yuzzles uses the following third-party services, each of which has its own privacy policy:

• Neon — PostgreSQL database infrastructure
• Vercel — Hosting and edge network
• Redis (Upstash) — Session caching

These services process data only as necessary to deliver the Yuzzles service and are bound by their respective data processing agreements.

We retain your account and gameplay data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal data will be permanently removed within 30 days. Anonymised analytics data may be retained indefinitely.

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• The right to access the data we hold about you
• The right to correct inaccurate data
• The right to request deletion of your data
• The right to withdraw consent at any time

Yuzzles is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Yuzzles is an independent project. If you have any questions or requests regarding this Privacy Policy, please reach out via the feedback form available within the app. We aim to respond within 7 business days.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated“ date at the top of this page. Continued use of Yuzzles after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
